Overview

SUM is a Horizon Europe project that aims to transform urban mobility by integrating innovative shared mobility services with public transport systems. Through living labs and real-world demonstrations across European cities, the project promotes seamless, sustainable, and user-centred travel by improving intermodality, connectivity, and accessibility. SUM supports the development and validation of mobility hubs, shared transport services, and integrated mobility solutions that encourage a shift towards more sustainable travel behaviours and help cities create efficient and resilient transport networks.

Objectives

Competitive Shared Mobility

Increase the use of New Shared Mobility (NSM) services by improving operational performance, financial viability, and integration with public transport.

Safer Mobility Infrastructure

Improve the acceptance and safety of NSM by redesigning mobility hubs, streetscapes, and supporting infrastructure in collaboration with cities, citizens, and mobility providers.

User-Centred Pricing & Integration

Encourage travellers to adopt NSM services through price sensitivity analysis, dynamic pricing mechanisms, and seamless integration with public transport networks.

Impact Evaluation

Measure and quantify the effectiveness of mobility interventions using an open data platform and a standardised impact assessment framework.

Policy & Planning Support

Develop practical recommendations to help cities integrate NSM measures into Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).

Communication & Dissemination

Promote project results through active communication, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge-sharing activities across Europe.

Long-Term Sustainability

Ensure the economic and financial sustainability of project outcomes through business models, scaling-up strategies, exploitation plans, and replication roadmaps.

What We Do

CPT Group (LPT and CPT) leads the Larnaca Living Lab in the SUM project, demonstrating how shared mobility services can be effectively integrated with public transport. We coordinate local stakeholder engagement, co-design mobility hub infrastructure, and support the integration of new mobility services into public transport ticketing systems.

Through real-world pilot activities, we evaluate the impact of bike-sharing, mobility hubs, and multimodal travel solutions on user behaviour and urban mobility patterns. By fostering collaboration between public and private mobility providers, we contribute to the development of seamless, sustainable, and accessible mobility services for cities.
