Cyprus Public Transport is one of the national bus operator responsible to operate all public transport services by bus in the regions of Nicosia and Larnaca. Our vision is to be the natural choice for people wanting to travel easily in the regions mentioned above by providing an excellent service.
The current Road Traffic Safety Policy is part of the general policy of the company and is aligned with our vision and our “Safety First” value.
Our efforts and commitments are focused on the following:
• The Organisation implements the Safe System approach which aims to eliminate road fatalities and serious injuries.
• Leadership is the most critical success factor, leading by example, demonstrating commitment to road safety by holding all levels of the Organisation accountable for road traffic safety performance.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential road traffic hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
• Utilize telematics and other technologies to monitor driving behaviour, vehicle performance, and compliance with road safety instructions.
• Implement a system for monitoring and reviewing road traffic safety performance, including the collection and analysis of data on road traffic incidents.
• We establish the necessary information channels to ensure effective internal and external communication and coordination with interested parties.
• We encourage the consultation and participation of our people with regards to road traffic safety.
• Ensure all vehicles are regularly inspected, maintained, and equipped with safety features.
• Establish a system of continuous improvement of the road traffic safety system by setting performance criteria, key performance indicators, objective and targets to achieve them.
Cyprus Public Transport has established a Road Traffic Safety Management System based on the ISO 39001:2012 standard, as well as EN13816:2002 that reflects the competence of the organisation to provide such services.
