Innovative Charging Infrastructure
Deploy a photovoltaic-powered, battery-integrated EV charging infrastructure enhanced with advanced grid-edge controls.
Advanced AI-driven Energy Management System for Photovoltaic-powered and Battery-integrated Electric Vehicle charging stations
EMS4PVBEV is an industry-driven research and innovation project that aims to develop a next-generation energy management solution for electric vehicle charging stations powered by solar photovoltaics (PV) and integrated battery storage systems. By combining renewable energy sources, energy storage, and artificial intelligence, the project supports the transition towards cleaner transportation, smarter energy use, and a more sustainable mobility ecosystem in Cyprus.
CPT is the coordinator of the EMS4PVBEV project, leading the development and real-world demonstration of innovative solutions for renewable energy-powered electric mobility.
CPT Group (CPT, NPT and LPT) contributes its expertise in public transport operations, electromobility, and innovation to support the deployment of a solar-powered EV charging station integrated with battery storage and an AI-driven energy management system. We provide the charging infrastructure, electric buses, operational data, and demonstration environment required to test and validate the project's solutions under actual operating conditions. We also contribute to the optimisation of charging operations, the evaluation of future energy needs, and the development of innovative business models that promote the wider adoption of sustainable and cost-effective electric mobility solutions in Cyprus.
Integrates solar generation, battery storage and fast EV charging into one coordinated energy system.
Uses real-time monitoring, forecasting, predictive charging and decision optimisation to manage energy flows efficiently.
Maximising on-site renewable energy self-consumption while reducing grid dependence and CO₂ emissions.
Supports further research into energy optimisation, smart-grid interaction and scalable renewable-energy integration.
