From Ideas to Action: NPT Participates in SUM Capacity Building Training in Coimbra
Coimbra, Portugal | 23–24 April 2026 – Nicosia Public Transport participated in the SUM Capacity Building Training in Coimbra, Portugal, represented by Katerina Maxouti, Research Project Manager. The training brought together project partners, mobility practitioners, and local stakeholders to strengthen their capacity to design, test, and implement innovative mobility solutions.
Organised within the framework of the SUM project, the programme focused on transforming mobility concepts into practical initiatives that can help cities address current and future transport challenges. Through workshops, interactive exercises, and collaborative discussions, participants explored methods and tools for accelerating the deployment of sustainable and people-centred mobility solutions.
Particular emphasis was placed on collaboration, experimentation, and real-world implementation, providing participants with practical insights into stakeholder engagement, innovation management, and the development of mobility measures that can be adapted to different urban contexts.
Hosted by the Municipality of Coimbra and the Municipal Urban Transport Services of Coimbra (SMTUC), the event was delivered by ERTICO Academy and Three o'clock, offering valuable expertise and insights into mobility planning, stakeholder engagement, and innovation management.
The training demonstrated how collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge sharing can help transform innovative mobility ideas into practical solutions that deliver real benefits for cities and communities.
The knowledge and experience gained through the training will support the ongoing development and implementation of mobility initiatives within the SUM Project, contributing to more sustainable, accessible, and user-focused transport solutions.
